Nebraska’s 2026 individual income tax uses four brackets. The first two rates are 2.46% and 3.51%, while the third and fourth brackets both use a 4.55% rate for 2026.

What Changed in Nebraska for 2026?
Nebraska continues its multi-year reduction of individual income-tax rates. For tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2026, the third and fourth individual income-tax brackets use a 4.55% rate.
The Nebraska Department of Revenue states that the maximum individual income-tax rate for tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2026 is 4.55%.
Nebraska Wage Withholding for 2026
Nebraska issued a new 2026 Circular EN for wages, pensions, annuities and gambling winnings paid on or after January 1, 2026. The Department of Revenue states that all withholding tables in the 2026 Circular EN changed and should be used for payments made beginning January 1, 2026.
Nebraska provides percentage-method tables for weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly and daily payroll periods. The tables also distinguish between single/head-of-household and married taxpayers.
Nebraska Special 1.5% Withholding Procedure
Nebraska’s 2026 Circular EN states that the special income tax withholding rate remains 1.5%. Employers using the wage bracket tables may use the shaded and nonshaded areas to determine whether the special withholding procedures apply.
This calculator does not automatically apply Nebraska’s special 1.5% procedure because the actual treatment depends on the employee’s withholding circumstances and employer payroll method.
