Maine Paycheck Calculator 2026
The Maine Paycheck Calculator helps employees estimate their take-home pay after federal income tax, Maine individual income tax, Social Security, Medicare and other paycheck deductions.
Maine uses a graduated individual income tax system. For 2026, Maine’s individual income tax rates range from 5.8% to 7.15%, depending on taxable income and filing status.
How the Maine Paycheck Calculator Works
Enter your annual salary or hourly wage and choose your pay frequency. You can estimate weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly or monthly take-home pay.
The calculator estimates federal income tax, Maine state income tax, Social Security and Medicare and then subtracts the selected deductions.
Pre-tax deductions and post-tax deductions can be entered separately because they can affect taxable income and take-home pay differently.

Weekly vs. Biweekly Pay in Maine
Employees paid weekly generally receive 52 paychecks per year. Biweekly employees generally receive 26. Semi-monthly employees generally receive 24, while monthly employees generally receive 12.
Changing pay frequency does not change annual salary. It changes how that salary is divided among individual paychecks.
Hourly Pay and Overtime
Hourly employees can enter their hourly wage and regular weekly hours. The calculator also provides fields for estimated overtime hours and an overtime multiplier.
Actual overtime compensation depends on applicable employment laws, employee classification and employer payroll policies.
