Delaware Paycheck Calculator 2026
The Delaware Paycheck Calculator helps employees estimate their take-home pay after federal income tax, Delaware income tax, Social Security, Medicare and other paycheck deductions.
Delaware has a graduated individual income-tax system. This means the state tax calculation changes as taxable income moves through different tax brackets.
How the Delaware Paycheck Calculator Works
Enter your annual salary or hourly wage, select your pay frequency and choose your filing status.
The calculator estimates federal income tax, Delaware income tax, Social Security and Medicare. It then converts the annual amounts into an estimated amount for each paycheck.
Delaware Income Tax Rates 2026
Delaware has graduated individual income-tax rates. The Delaware Division of Revenue lists rates of 2.2%, 3.9%, 4.8%, 5.2%, 5.55% and 6.6% across its taxable income ranges.
For taxable income of $60,000 or more, the Delaware marginal income-tax rate is 6.60%. This does not mean that 6.60% is automatically charged on every dollar of income for every taxpayer.
Delaware’s official tax calculation uses a base amount plus the applicable marginal rate on income within the relevant range.
Delaware Federal Payroll Taxes
Delaware employees are also generally subject to federal payroll taxes, including Social Security and Medicare.
Social Security Tax in Delaware
For 2026, the employee Social Security tax rate is 6.2%.
The 2026 Social Security wage base is $184,500. Wages above this amount are not subject to the employee Social Security tax for 2026.
Medicare Tax in Delaware
The standard employee Medicare tax rate is 1.45%.
Medicare does not have the Social Security wage-base limitation. An additional 0.9% Medicare tax can apply to wages above $200,000 under federal withholding rules.
Federal Income Tax
Federal income tax depends on your taxable income, filing status, deductions, credits and Form W-4 information.
This calculator uses the 2026 federal tax brackets and standard deductions as an estimate. Your employer’s actual payroll withholding may differ.

Weekly vs. Biweekly Paychecks in Delaware
Employees paid weekly normally receive 52 paychecks each year. Biweekly employees normally receive 26. Semi-monthly employees normally receive 24, while monthly employees normally receive 12.
Changing the pay frequency does not change your annual salary. It changes how your salary is divided among individual paychecks.
Hourly Pay and Overtime
Hourly employees can enter their hourly wage and regular weekly hours. The calculator also allows overtime hours and an overtime multiplier.
The overtime calculation is an estimate. Actual overtime eligibility and compensation can depend on federal law, Delaware law, employee classification and employer policy.
Pre-Tax and Post-Tax Deductions
Paychecks can include deductions for retirement plans, health insurance and other employee benefits.
Different deductions receive different tax treatment. For planning purposes, this calculator allows pre-tax and post-tax deductions to be entered separately.
Why Your Actual Delaware Paycheck May Be Different
An online paycheck calculator is an estimate and does not reproduce every detail of an employer’s payroll system.
Your actual paycheck may differ because of your Form W-4, Delaware withholding information, tax credits, deductions, retirement contributions, health insurance, bonuses, additional withholding and other compensation.
Delaware also has state-specific tax rules and deductions that may affect your final state tax liability.
